Bold, black-and-white illustrations are an excellent choice to support baby's developing eyes, but for the first few months, any book will do even Tolkien. The secret is to empower caregivers to read what they enjoy as babies thrive when snuggled up with their special adults and hearing the rhythms and sounds of their voices.
